NY NJ Appliance Cleaning steam-cleans range hoods, ovens, cooktops, refrigerator coils and outdoor kitchens in homes across Bergen County, New Jersey, including Alpine, Saddle River, Franklin Lakes, Upper Saddle River, Ridgewood, Tenafly, Englewood, Closter, Demarest, Wyckoff and Mahwah. Bergen's estate kitchens are where 48-inch ranges and hood liners buried in millwork are the norm rather than the exception.
The kitchens here
Bergen County has two kinds of kitchen, and we see both every week. The first is the estate kitchen on the one- and two-acre lots of Alpine, Saddle River, Upper Saddle River and Franklin Lakes: a 48-inch or 60-inch dual-fuel range, a hood liner buried in custom millwork with a blower nobody has opened since the house was built, a second oven, a wine unit and an outdoor kitchen off the terrace with a built-in grill that sat under a cover all winter. The second is the renovated colonial or Tudor in Ridgewood, Tenafly, Ho-Ho-Kus, Glen Rock and Wyckoff, where a 36-inch pro range and a chimney hood went into an older house with a duct run that was never meant for it. Different kitchens, same grease.
The kitchens we see in Bergen County
The estate kitchens in Alpine, Saddle River and Franklin Lakes tend to have the biggest hoods in our whole service area, and the biggest hoods hide the most. A hood liner set into a plaster or millwork surround looks spotless from the floor. The baffles behind it, and the blower behind those, tell a different story after a couple of years of a 48-inch range running most nights. Our residential range hood cleaning starts by getting all of that out where you can see it.
Ridgewood, Tenafly, Glen Rock and Wyckoff are a different job. A lot of these are older houses with a serious range put into a renovated kitchen, and the hood was sized for the range but the duct wasn’t. Weak draw and a lingering smell are the usual complaint, and the fix is usually the blower and the accessible vent rather than a new hood.
What Bergen County homeowners book most
Hoods first. Then the oven, because once the hood is open people ask about the rest of the range. Oven and range steam cleaning on a Wolf, Viking or Thermador is the second most common booking in the county, and the two together make a sensible half day.
The outdoor kitchen is the Bergen specialty, though. The terrace grills on the estate lots are built-in DCS, Lynx, Wolf and Kalamazoo units, and they sit under a cover from October to April. Come May they need more than a brush. Outdoor kitchen and grill cleaning is a spring ritual here, and the grills that were skipped for a few seasons go to grill restoration, which is the job with the before-and-after photos on our homepage.
Getting to you
Getting around Bergen is mostly a question of which side of the county you’re on. The Palisades Interstate Parkway serves the eastern towns from Fort Lee up through Englewood Cliffs, Tenafly, Cresskill, Demarest, Closter, Norwood, Rockleigh, Old Tappan and Alpine. Route 17 and Route 208 cover Ho-Ho-Kus, Ridgewood, Glen Rock, Wyckoff, Franklin Lakes, Allendale, Saddle River, Upper Saddle River, Ramsey, Mahwah, Montvale and Woodcliff Lake. If you’re in a building in Fort Lee or Englewood Cliffs, we’ll need the management company’s COI requirements ahead of time, and we send the certificate before the visit as a matter of course.
Nearby
Bergen shares a lot of its kitchens, and its customers, with Essex County to the south and the Hudson County waterfront below the bridge. Across the river, Westchester County is a Tappan Zee drive away and a lot of Bergen families have a second kitchen there. The full list of counties, boroughs and regions is on the service areas page.
