About NY NJ Appliance Cleaning

Trained technicians, one documented process on every appliance, and the paperwork your building wants before we come up. Bergen County to the Hamptons.

NY NJ Appliance Cleaning is a residential appliance cleaning company working in homes across New Jersey, New York and Fairfield County, Connecticut, on range hoods, ovens, cooktops, refrigeration and outdoor kitchens. Our technicians have spent more than 20 years around high-end kitchens, and every appliance runs through the same documented seven-step process, from identifying the finish before anything is touched to a final walk-through with the homeowner. The route runs from the Jersey Shore through the five boroughs and Westchester, out along Long Island to the Hamptons.

Who shows up, and what they're trained on

Technicians, not a cleaning crew with a bucket and a spray bottle. The people we send are trained on pro-style appliances and on the finishes they're wrapped in, because the wrong pad on the wrong door leaves a mark that outlives the grease. Nobody learns on a 48-inch range with custom millwork built around it.

The other half of the answer is the process. Every visit follows the same seven steps in the same order, written down on the job sheet: inspect, protect, clean, detail, reassemble, test, final inspection. Same sequence in a pre-war apartment as in an estate kitchen with a second oven and a grill out back. That's what makes the work repeatable across three states, and in our experience it's the part homeowners notice second, right after the appliance itself.

How we clean

Nothing gets touched until we know what it's made of. Brushed stainless, porcelain enamel, a powder-coated door and tempered glass all react differently, so a visit starts with the finish and the condition of the appliance in front of us.

Then the plastic goes up. Take the kitchen at the top of this page: a stainless chimney hood, a Wolf rangetop under it, glazed tile across the wall and a pot filler in the middle of it. All of that gets covered before a single baffle comes out. After that comes the slow part. Filters, grates, racks, burner caps and blower wheels come out and get cleaned separately with steam and hand tools, and the seams, hinges and corners get detailed by hand until the residue is gone. Honestly, that detailing is the step most people skip, and it's the one you notice.

Everything then goes back where it came from, seated properly. We run the fans, lights and igniters we can reach, and we walk the kitchen with you before the plastic comes down. One limit: we clean, we don't repair. A failing blower motor or a dead igniter gets pointed out, and the fix goes to a repair tech.

The kitchens we're usually in

Three kinds, mostly. Pre-war co-ops on the Upper East Side and brownstones in Brooklyn, where the hood often recirculates instead of venting outside and the freight elevator is part of the plan. Estate kitchens in Bergen County, Westchester and on Long Island's North Shore, with a 48-inch range, a hood liner set into millwork, a second oven and a built-in grill a short walk from the back door. And shore houses, from Rumson down to Spring Lake and out to the Hamptons, where the grill sits in salt air all year.

The co-ops are the hardest of the three, if you ask us. Tight space, a service entrance, a freight window somebody booked for you, and a managing agent who wants the file complete before anyone comes up. Some households add a confidentiality agreement on top of that. We sign it, we work around the building's rules, and we schedule the visit accordingly.

NY NJ Hoods, our commercial company

NY NJ Hoods is our commercial company, under the same ownership, cleaning hood and exhaust systems in restaurants and cafeterias. A commercial kitchen loads a hood faster than any home can, and years of that work are where our grease experience comes from. It's also why the reviews on our homepage are labeled as Google reviews of NY NJ Hoods. One homeowner put the gap plainly in a Google review of NY NJ Hoods, our commercial sister company: “It’s hard to find a company who is willing to clean residential hoods.” We'd agree. If you manage a restaurant, NY NJ Hoods is the site you want.
